Plans, seats and changing plan

What a seat is, how proration works, and what happens when you remove someone mid-month.

What counts as a seat

Members consume seats. Guests, deactivated accounts and integration bots do not. A person invited but not yet accepted does not consume a seat until they accept.

Changing plan mid-cycle

Upgrades take effect immediately and you are charged the prorated difference for the remainder of the period. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period, so you keep what you paid for.

Adding and removing people

Adding a member mid-cycle is charged prorated to the day. Removing one frees the seat immediately and leaves a credit against the next invoice — Taskzin does not refund to the card, and does not quietly keep charging for someone who left.

Deactivating rather than deleting a member keeps their comments and history attributed correctly, and still frees the seat.
