Field types
- Text, Number and Date — the plain ones
- Select and Multi-select — a fixed list of options with colours
- Person — one or more workspace members
- Checkbox — a yes/no that reports cleanly
- Formula — computed from other fields on the same task
- Relation — a link to a task in another project
Project fields versus workspace fields
A field defined on a project exists only there. A workspace field exists on every project that opts in, which is what makes cross-project reporting possible. If you ever want to see "everything marked Priority: Urgent across the company", Priority has to be a workspace field.
Changing a field type
Taskzin converts what it can and tells you what it cannot before anything is written. Text to Select keeps every distinct value as an option. Select to Text keeps the labels. Anything to Number drops values that are not numeric — those are listed for you first, and the old values stay recoverable from the task history for 30 days.
Deleting a field is not recoverable after 30 days. Rename or hide it instead if you are unsure.
