Recurring tasks

Schedules, what carries over to the next instance, and how to stop a recurrence without deleting its history.

Set a recurrence

  1. Open the task and click the due date.
  2. Choose Repeat and pick a schedule — daily, weekly on chosen days, monthly by date or by weekday, or a custom interval.
  3. Choose when the next instance is created: on a fixed schedule, or only once the current one is closed.

"After completion" is the right choice for chores that must not pile up — a missed week produces one task, not four.

What carries over

The next instance copies the title, description, checklist, labels, assignee, custom fields and subtasks. It does not copy comments, attachments or time entries — those belong to the instance that produced them.

Stopping a recurrence

Open the task, click the recurrence and choose End recurrence. Every past instance stays exactly where it is, with its comments and history intact. Deleting the task instead would take those with it.
